Groce Family Farm is a small family farm in Southern Indiana. We only sell food that we raise on our farm. Our primarily offerings are forest pork, pastured chicken and vegetables. And we do also seasonally offer chicken eggs, lamb, goat and goose. All of our animals have access to frequently rotating pastures, and our pigs and poultry are fed a non-GMO grain supplement in addition.
The heritage breed pigs enjoy a life in the woods, where they exhibit their natural instincts in fresh paddocks every week. Moving them provides access to fresh grasses, as well as shrubs, vines, roots, and the seasonal mast from persimmon, hickory, and oak trees. We offer our pork in wholes, halves, and individual retail cuts, from snout to tail.
Our chickens take an additional month longer to finish than the cornish cross chickens that are grown in most confinement and pasture operations. Our birds are bred to forage and hunt for clover and bugs, and they have 50% longer to secure the minerals and flavor that the native environment provides. Every 4-6 days our chickens are given a brand new paddock that provides them with 30 fresh new square feet per bird. We offer whole birds in a variety of sizes as well as cut up parts.
All of our grazing animals are fed strictly forage, and never spend any time inside. Inquire for our calendar of availability.
We participate in farmers markets in Louisville, KY, and have monthly drop off locations in Louisville and New Albany. Email us, or check out our website for details. We do not ship our products.
Our food can also be found at many fine restaurants and grocery stores throughout Louisville and southern Indiana.
