Green Acres Farm is a small family farm in the Northwest corner of Florida, less that a mile south of the Alabama-Florida border. We moved from Pensacola, with our two children, in the spring of 2007 to develop a small-scale farm. We have learned a lot about sustainability and the realities of the current food system over the past three years, and we continue to learn.
Our farm philosophy is based on working with nature. We raise our animals on pasture, utilizing rotational grazing, compost and organic inputs to increase the vitality of life in the soil. This enables us to raise stronger, healthier animals, and, in turn, clean, nutrient-rich food for our local community.
We currently raise Grass Fed Lamb and Cracker Cattle, Pasture Raised Broilers, Turkeys and Tamworth Heritage Hogs.
