Glen Eco Farm is a small, diversified farm, committed to sustainable agricultural principles. We produce a variety of fresh vegetables in season and market them at a local farmers’ market, directly to customers who come to the farm, and also through a small CSA which we launched in 1998.
We maintain a small flock of pastured laying hens from which we sell eggs during the farmers’ market season and year-round at the farm. We offer optional egg shares to our CSA customers during the CSA season and collaborate with a nearby pastured broiler producer to sell some of his product to our CSA patrons. During the winter months our eggs can be bought at several retail outlets in Harrisonburg, Virginia. Once a year, usually in the fall, we have older spent hens that we offer for sale to customers who want to use them as stewing meat or as feed for pets. We prefer to sell them live at a fair price.
We have recently sold most of our beef herd and are no longer offering beef products either by the cut or by the side.
