Double Brook Farm, started in 2004 in Hopewell, New Jersey, was created to raise livestock for meat in the most humane and sustainable way possible for the animals and the soil. As a small, family-owned and operated farm, we raise sheep, heritage pigs, chickens, heritage turkeys, ducks and goats on approximately 800 acres of pasture and woodlots. We do not use antibiotics or hormones. The sheep and goats are 100% grass-fed and the pigs, chickens, ducks and turkeys supplement their pastured diet with a GMO-free feed, grown by local farmers.
We have only the second on-farm USDA-inspected processing facility in the country, reducing stress for our animals and saving time and energy for our farmers. We take great pride in the fact that our animals come from farm to market/restaurant directly – a trip of less than 3 miles.
Our meat and eggs may be purchased at our full-service market, Brick Farm Market, (http://www.brickfarmmarket.com) at 65 East Broad Street in Hopewell, NJ (609-466-6500). The market offers an artisan butcher shop, house-made charcuterie, a gourmet cheese counter, fresh local produce, prepared foods, barista coffee and tea, a juice and smoothie bar, catering, grocery items, local grass-fed dairy and a full bakery on premises. Open Tuesday–Friday, 7am–7pm; Saturday, 8am–6pm; Sunday 8am–4pm; closed Mondays.
You can also find our meat at the the Brick Farm Tavern (http://www.brickfarmtavern.com), our contemporary farm-to-table restaurant serving dinner in a renovated 1800s farm house (registered with the Hopewell Valley Historical Society).
