B2 Ranch offers all natural, grassfed veal along with other grass pastured mature and traditional beef.
All our cattle live on pasture. During the winter the mother cows will receive a small ration of cottonseed range cubes as a dietary supplement when the grass is dormant and lacking protein. We practice short term rotational grazing and, in some pastures, high density rotational grazing. We do not apply herbicides, pesticides or non-organic fertilizers to our pastures, nor do we use chemical wormers or fly control. We do not administer hormones. Though we do not administer antibiotics as a management practice, if an animal is sick and needs treatment, we will treat it. An animal treated with antibiotics will be removed from our beef sales program.
B2 Ranch Natural Pastured Veal is harvested from 6- to 8-month-old calves raised by their mothers in our pastures with a diet consisting solely of their mother’s milk and grass, along with free access to salt and trace minerals to make up any nutritional deficiencies. The calves have not been treated with antibiotics, hormones, vaccines or any other medications. The calves are born after our winter supplementation program is over and do not receive any range cubes or other protein supplements.
Our Natural Pastured Veal is not traditional veal. It is lean, tender, and juicy, with a light, delicate flavor. Cooking is easy with lots of possibilities – the chops are delicious pan broiled, the veal cutlets make tasty chicken fried steak and veal parmigiana, and the ground beef makes excellent burgers. We love it!
